First of all, I have to admit that Indian movies are my favourite ones - that is a huge secret, so you have to feel privileged about this :). My all time favourite movie is "Main Hoon Na", I've watched it like thousand times (btw, when you have a lonely evening, give it a try!).
What I wanted to say about "English Vinglish" is that it's wonderful. There are not so many movies which give you a nice warm feeling after all. Yes, this is a fiction, but there are some magic, some true stories around us, which show that everything is not that bad in our world, we still have a chance. I can compare this movie with "Intouchables", which is also the nicest movie I've ever seen, and it is a real story, that is hard to believe.
"English Vinglish" is a story about Indian mother and wife, Shashi. She is totally traditional and doesn't really fit into a modern world. She also doesn't know English, which makes her life even harder - her daughter and husband laugh at her, make her feel miserable sometimes. But than her niece, who lives in New York, is going to have a wedding, so Shashi has to go alone to another country, which language she doesn't know. That's not easy at all, but she finds 4-week English classes, so her new life will begin, when she will understand that she has to love herself, and life will get come new color than.
I don't want to retell the movie, just download it or buy a DVD and spend two hours in front of your TV-set. You won't regret, I promise.
